Did you celebrate International Women’s Day?
We had wonderful day here at Barrowhill Hall, celebrating all our incredible women.
We’re a 74-bedroom residential and nursing home on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border specialising in caring for those living with dementia and memory loss. We also have a separate modern household, Churnet Lodge, for those living with Young Onset Dementia, which occurs before the age of 65.
To mark the occasion we handed out roses to all our team members, residents and visiting ladies, along with some delicious chocolates.
We also spent some time together reflecting on what the day means to us, reading a poem dedicated to women and a short piece about the significance of International Women’s Day.
Dania, our home manager said:
“We always enjoy sharing our own experiences on International Women’s Day. We talk about being women in our respective cultures and the importance of supporting one another.
“These conversations are important because they promote empathy and solidarity within the team. They help broaden our perspectives, build understanding of the challenges women from different cultures may face and allow people to feel supported and heard.
“Together we can challenge stereotypes, encourage one another and continue to advocate for women’s rights.”
